TRANSFORMATION TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE AND RESILIENT SOCIETY FOR ALL was this year’s UN International Day for People living With Disabilities theme.
The theme was discussed at the first WTC Press Conference held at the Conference Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos.
It was agreed that SOCIETAL INTEGRATION is key for People living With Disabilities PWDs to fulfil their lives purposes as well as them being seen as perfectly normal human beings who can contribute their own quota to society building and governance.
The Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs was actively present at the WTC Press Conference in Lagos Nigeria. Some PWDs were present as well. The highpoint was when the PWDs were presented and EMPOWERED with monetary gifts as well as sponsors products (special thanks to MTN Nigeria, Bank Of Industry BOI and Flour mills PLC).
We at the WTC Office #EmpowerWithEmpathy.
We suggest you do the same.
People living With Disabilities PWDs are normal people who need the help of more privileged people to survive, yes…but they do not need only sympathy. Empathy is key.
They must be EMPOWERED!
